North Columbus Elementary School will hold a series of events this week to celebrate Red Ribbon Week.

Red Ribbon Week is an alcohol and drug awareness prevention program held every October.

On Monday, the school's theme was "Give Drugs the Slip" and students were encouraged to wear slippers to school.

Today, the theme was "Shade Out Drugs" and students could wear sunglasses.

The themes for the rest of the week are as follows:

Wednesday: "Don't Let Drugs Sneak Up on You." Students wear sneakers to school.

Thursday: "Team Up Against Drugs." Students wear clothes with the logo of their favorite team.

Friday: "Red Rally: We will Rally Together to Run Drugs out of Town." Students are encouraged to wear red. All the classes will run around the track at Northside High School and receive a Red Ribbon at the end of the run.
