Fort Benning's annual Operation Sleigh Ride to benefit less fortunate children of Fort Benning Soldiers will take place this afternoon at Fryar Drop Zone.
More than 200 American paratroopers, assisted by four Canadian jumpmasters, will collect toys for Fort Benning’s Santa’s Castle, then conduct an airborne operation and exchange parachute badges, the post's public affairs office said.
The toys were collected this morning at Lawson Army Airfield then moved to Fryar Drop Zone where they were placed on “Santa’s sleigh.”
The paratroopers who donated the toys will jump at approximately 2 p.m. then exchange parachute badges with the Canadian jumpmasters at approximately 3:30 p.m.
