The United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley is trying to help local residents with the cost of their prescription drugs.
United Way is offering the FamilyWize Discount Card which can lower the cost of medicine by as much as 35 percent for people without health insurance or who must by drugs not docvered by insurance.
These cards are free and will be accepted by many pharmacies.
"We wanted to make it as easy as possible for people in our community to save on prescription drugs. there are too many people who have insufficient or no prescription coverage or need medications not covered by their insurance, Medicare, Medicaid or VA benefits," said United Way President and CEO Scott Ferguson. "We believe this is one way to begin to tackle the tough issue of ensuring that people who need medications are able to get them."
