Auburn students to build at Westville Saturday

Auburn University students will help install a replica of an 1850's slave cabin Saturday at Westville which is near Lumpkin, Ga.

The students are from the university's Design-Build Masters Program. The students have researched, designed and constructed the replica.

It will be installed beginning at 8 a.m. with the help of members from the community.

The students created a plan for the design and construction of the structure. Westville then cut lumber to their specifications and shipped the material to Auburn.

The project is funded by HUD.

The village at Westville portrays 19th century life with historically accurate buildings such as houses, schools and churches.
