Susan Andrews, the superintendent of Harris County Schools , was selected as one of the three finalist candidates to be the next superintendent of the Muscogee County School District.
Felicia Mitchell, of the DeKalb County School system and Faron Hollinger, of Baldwin County Public Schools in Alabama, were the other two finalists names.
"We anticipate introducing these excellent candidates to the community in the next ten days," search committee chair Phillip Schley said in a press release. "We feel very fortunate to have attracted three candidates of superior quality."
The board has 14 days to conduct public interviews and introduce the candidates to the public before they must vote on a final candidate.
The former superintendent, John Phillips, retired earlier this year and is currently serving as interim.
