The weather forecasters at the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts are predicting snow flurries at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 5. That's the day winterfest2008 kicks off.
winterfest provides for local and area artists to show and sell paintings, pottery, jewelry, glass and photography.
There's no admission fee.
Artists' booths will be in the lobby and mezzanine levels in the lobby of the RiverCenter, 900 Broadway.

Besides all the art, there are three ticketed events: A Skaggs Family Christmas, 7:30 p.m. Bill Heard Theatre, Dec. 5, $32-$44; the Irish Tenors, 7:30 p.m. Bill Heard Theatre, Dec. 6, $42-$52; Empire Brass Quintet, 2 p.m. Dec. 6, tickets TBA.
winterfest2008 hours are 5-10 pm. Dec. 5, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Dec. 6 and noon-5 p.m. Dec. 7.
