MACON, Ga. (AP) — Police arrested a man Saturday afternoon after his 71-year-old father was found shot to death in his north Macon home.
Kelly Alan Forehand, 40, was charged with malice murder and is being held without bond at the Bibb County jail in connection with the death of Louie Forehand, officials said.
The father, who police believe was killed Friday, was discovered early Saturday morning by another son, said Sheriff Jerry Modena. Both Louie and Kelly live in the two-story, stone-faced house, and the younger Forehand lives in a trailer parked beside the house, police said.
Kelly Forehand and his father have a history of domestic violence. In 2003, Kelly Forehand beat his father so severely that Louie Forehand shot him in self defense.

No charges were filed in the case because the shooting was ruled justified, police said.
Kelly Forehand also has a criminal history dating back 15 years, including convictions for burglary, theft of a vehicle and forgery. He served time in prison for the forgery charge.
