Post CID command changing

Fort Benning's Criminal Investigation Division (CID) Battalion will be operating under new management Thursday.

Lt. Col. Kevin J. Moffett will assume command of the battalion from Lt. Col. Kevin R. Clarke during a change of command ceremony at 1 p.m. at the Benning Club.

The CID Battalion is part of the 3rd Military Police Group, U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command. As the Army's primary criminal investigative organization, CID is responsible for the conduct of criminal investigations in which the Army is, or may be, a party of interest.

Moffett comes to Fort Benning from Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., where he served as the operations officer at the Joint Readiness Training Center. He is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

He and his wife, Sabrina, are the parents of three children.

Clarke has been reassigned to Iraq, where he will serve as the deputy provost marshal for the Multi-National Corps-Iraq.
