Inmate escapes from work detail

Authorities are searching for an prison inmate who walked off a work detail this morning.

Jeremiah Webb, 27, of Atlanta, was at the Metra Bus Terminal, 814 Linwood Blvd., around 11:30 a.m. when he walked away, said Muscogee County Prison Deputy Warden Ray Covington.

"He was last seen in a blue coverall that had 'Metra' across the back," Covington said.

Webb, who was incarcerated for burglary, is a black male, 5-feet, 7-inches tall and about 155-160 pounds, Covington said.

Webb had been doing maintenance at the facility, which includes cleaning up and washing buses.
