Auburn selects Mazey as provost

Auburn University has chosen Mary Ellen Mazey as its new provost and president for academic affairs.

The Board of Trustees must approve the choice at its Jan. 29 meeting.

Mazey is a former director of the Office of University Partnerships for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Auburn University President Jay Gouge said, "Dr. Mazey brings to Auburn a vision and experience in higher education administration that will serve the university well in the coming years."
