TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — Alabama coach Nick Saban’s contract has been completed and submitted to the university’s board of trustees for approval, athletic director Mal Moore said Wednesday.
The Crimson Tide made Saban college football’s highest paid coach in luring him away from the Miami Dolphins for an eight-year deal worth more than $30 million in January.
‘‘We worked together to complete this agreement even as we proceeded with recruiting, spring football practice and adjustments in the coaching staff, and we are pleased that it has been finalized,’’ Moore said in a one-paragraph statement.
The final contracts for Saban and his assistant coaches must be approved by the University System Board of Trustees’ compensation committee.

The final stumbling block in landing Saban’s signature had reportedly been endorsements, which make up much of his total compensation package under a multimillion-dollar ‘‘talent fee.
