Former Falcons' running back Jamal Anderson arrested

ATLANTA — Former Atlanta Falcons running back Jamal Anderson was arrested Sunday morning on suspicion of having suspected powder cocaine in his possession at an Atlanta nightclub.

Atlanta police spokesman Otis Redmond said the incident occurred at the Peachtree Tavern in Buckhead. Anderson was charged with felony possession of cocaine and misdemeanor marijuana possession.

Redmond said a second man, whose name was not immediately available, also was arrested.

Redmond said an off-duty officer working security at the club alerted police.

Both men were taken to Fulton County jail.

Anderson has a court hearing on the charge at 11 a.m Monday.
