Torin Walker selected for hoops All-Star game

Northside center Torin Walker has been selected to play in the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association Senior All-Star Games.

Walker, the Oklahoma State signee and one-half of the Patriots’ Twin Towers with James Vincent, will play for the South team in the GACA games which will be played March 22 at Savannah State University. The girls All-Star game will begin at 2 p.m. EST with the boys game following.

“It’s quite a honor for Torin to be selected,” said Northside coach Kenny Lawrence.

Walker is averaging 16 points and 12 rebounds per game for the Patriots. He was the only local player on either the boys or girls rosters.

The coaches for All-Star games are Charlton County’s Jesse Crews, South boys; Laney’s Otis Smart, South girls; Crawford’s Clyde Zachary, North boys; and Paidea’s Paul Meiere, North girls.
