Carver’s DeRon Furr will stay close to Columbus as he has committed to Auburn.
The 6-foot-4 quarterback had about 10 offers, including South Carolina, South Florida, Indiana and Kentucky, but he ultimately decided he wanted to play for the Tigers.
Furr, who transferred from Pacelli after his sophomore season, threw for 1,146 yards and nine touchdowns last season. The dual-threat passer also had 655 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns.
He helped guide Carver to a 12-2 record and the Class AAA semifinals, where the Tigers lost 16-14 to Shaw.
