Michael Eric Dyson, a leading scholar on hip-hop music and the culture that surrounds it, as well as its roots in African and African-American cultures and influence on American popular culture, will speak at Auburn University on Thursday.
Dyson, a professor of sociology at Georgetown University, will give a lecture at 7 p.m. CST in the Student Center Ballroom. It is free and open to the public.
The title of his lecture is "Becoming Our Sister's and Brother's Keeper in the Post Civil Rights Era."
