Two proposals that would require improvements in parking, landscaping and building features were rejected by the Planning Advisory Commission.
In the Veterans Parkway Overlay District, the proposed ordinance called for additional requirements from Moon and Williams roads to the Harris County Line.
The second proposal in south Columbus would make more requirements for development from Fourth Street east to Interstate 185 along the Chattahoochee River. It also would include South Lumpkin Road and Fort Benning Road, the section south of Victory Drive.
About 50 people filled the Columbus Council Chambers with many opposing both proposals.
