Miss America 1999 Nicole Johnson will present a talk on diabetes awareness on March 6 in Auburn, Ala., as Auburn University hosts the second Boshell Diabetes Research Day at the Hotel at Auburn University and Dixon Conference Center.
"We will cover the latest research related to diabetes and the role of obesity in its development," said Robert Judd, the Boshell Chair in Diabetes and Metabolic Diseases in Auburn's College of Veterinary Medicine.
Vanderbilt University professor Alan Cherrington will be among the speakers.
Ruth Harris, professor of nutrition and food science at the University of Georgia will lecture on "Can Leptin Make You Fat? at 1 p.m.

Johnson will have a book signing at 5:30 p.m. and speak at the evening banquet which begins at 7 p.m.
