Columbus High School places second at state literary meet

The Columbus High School literary team placed second in the state at the Georgia High School Association's State Literary Meet, held Saturday, March 21.

The team earned 13 points. The first place team earned 14 points.

Other winners at the meet included:

Nehemiah Lawson, Berrell Slaughter, Brad Williams, and Max Young won first in the state for boys' quartet. This is the second year the quartet has placed first in the state.

Melissa Cone, Nicole Frost, and Victoria Leggett placed second in the state for girls' trio.

Alex Willis placed fourth in the state for dramatic interpretation

Other participants at the meet included Francis Kim and Jake McBride, who competed in essay writing; Caitlin Ribeiro, who competed in extemporaneous speaking; and Max Young, who competed in the solo category.
