A performance of "Turn the Lights Down Low" wasn't enough to keep Megan Joy's future bright on "American Idol." The 22-year-old mother and divorcee was voted off the competition Wednesday night.
She was joined in the bottom three by Anoop Desai and Allison Iraheta, the second- and third-lowest vote-getters for iTunes theme week, respectively.
Though initially praised for her quirky vocals, Megan Joy was criticized by judges in recent weeks. Popular Web site Vote for the Worst endorsed her.
When host Ryan Seacrest asked Megan what she thought of the criticism she received from judge Simon Cowell, she said, "I love you, Simon, but I don't really care."

Then, after Megan learned she'd been eliminated, Cowell said, "When you said that you don't care, nor do we." The judges wouldn't consider using their save on her.
