Fort Benning will pay tribute to the American Paratrooper with a free-fall parachute demonstration and wreath ceremony Friday at the Airborne Walk.
Airborne soldiers past and present will gather on post to observe a demonstration by Fort Benning's command exhibition parachute team, the Silver Wings, at 10 a.m. Following the demonstration, the veterans will attend a basic Airborne course graduation at 11 a.m.
At 11:30 a.m., they will lay a wreath commemorating their fallen comrades at the Airborne Walk on Eubanks Field near Building 4.
The event is part of the annual Airborne Awards Festival, which honors distinguished members of the Airborne community. The annual Airborne Awards Festival is a three-day event with activities at Fort Benning and in Atlanta.
