Update on Chattahoochee Valley weather: With more rain, flood warning remains

A flood warning remains in effect until 4:45 p.m. EDT for west central Marion and eastern Chattahoochee counties, with more storms expected tonight.

The National Weather Service in its latest update reported that radar indicates up to 3 inches of rain have fallen in the area and 1-2 inches more are expected this afternoon and tonight.

Because the ground already is saturated from recent rains, residents can expect flooding in creek bottoms and other low-lying areas, the service says.

Thunderstorms with damaging winds and lightning are expected tonight.
