Chattahoochee senior finishes tour Washington, D.C.

Chattahoochee County High School senior Jennifer Dillon has completed a summer youth tour to Washington, D.C., where she joined students from across Georgia and the United States learning more about the nation's capital.

Her trip was sponsored by Sumter Electric Membership Corporation as part of an annual tour sponsored by EMCs across the country.

She will appear on the cover of Georgia Magazine in its September issue, along with an article she is writing about the journey.

Students visited Smithsonian Institute, Ford Theater, all of the national landmarks and dined in the Library of Congress dining room. A highlight for her was visiting Arlington National Cemetery, where she witnessed the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Dillon is the daughter of Matt and Linda Dillon of Cusseta-Chattahoochee County.
