Talbotton voters fill two council seats

Talbotton voters filled two vacancies this week on the Talbotton City Council created by the resignation of two members this spring.

In a six-way contest, voters elected Roosevell Hall and Marilyn Williams to the at-large seats. Their terms will expire Dec. 31, 2009.

Here's how Tuesday's vote turned out: Hall, 89; Marilyn Williams, 71; Charles Borders, 66; Knox Blackmar, 58; Robert Thomas Ross, 29; and Horace Williams, 18. The top two vote-getters were elected to fill the seats of Linda Leonard Pierce and Willie George Epps, who resigned.
