The Muscogee County School District will hold two public forums next week on the district's application to become a charter school system.
The forums are scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14 and 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16. The forums will be held in Room 106 of the old Bradley Library on Bradley Drive.
Becoming a charter system would allow the district more local control in exchange for greater accountability to the state department of education in regards to student achievement and test scores.
The district applied to become a charter school system last year, but did not meet the deadline to submit a letter of intent to the state department of education.
