Auburn University to host ALSAMP spring conference

Auburn University will host 11 fellow institutions from the Alabama Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation at a spring conference April 19-20.

The 2009 ALSAMP Spring Executive Meeting and Scholars/Bridge to the Doctorate Fellows Conference will take place at the Auburn Mariott Opelika Hotel and Conference Center.

The goal of the ALSAMP program funded by the National Science Foundation is to increase the quantity and quality of underrepresented minority students pursuing degrees of higher education in science, technology, engineering and math fields.

Schools participating besides Auburn are Alabama A&M University, Alabama State University, Miles College, Oakwood University, Stillman College, Talladega College, Tuskegee University, the University of Alabama, the University of Alabama in Huntsville, the University of Alabama at Birmingham and the University of South Alabama.
