More than 300 show up for Columbus Tea Party

More than 300 demonstrators gathered outside the Government Center on Wednesday to promote fiscal responsibility for the federal government.

The Columbus Tea Party was part of hundreds planned across the country over the past few days.

“We want to save this country for our grandchildren, OK?” said Sandy Toth, an organizer with Columbus’ Tea Party.

Columbus’ Tea Party — one of hundreds across the country — is a rally with a message of fiscal responsibility. Lori Jeffries, another event organizer, said people feel helpless about what she called out-of-control government spending. People attending the Tea Parties have the same ideas and goals.
