TSYS inks deal with UK insurance company

TSYS Europe, a division of Columbus-based electronic payment processor TSYS, said Tuesday it has launched a rewards card pilot program with Norwich Union, the world’s fifth-largest insurance group and the biggest in the United Kingdom.

The new prepaid rewards card will be offered to Norwich Union (NU) household customers. It is the second program that NU has live on the TSYS Prepaid platform. The product is Visa supported.

Each Rewards card is preloaded with a value and can be used within a network of retailers.

"When we first put the idea of the Rewards card to TSYS Europe, we knew it was going to be a tough task for them to complete the project within the timeframe we needed for a quick launch," said NU spokesman Howard Holmes. "They have met this challenge, enabling us to have a successful launch of the Rewards card."

TSYS now processes multiple prepaid portfolios for major banks across Europe, including Bank of Ireland, Royal Bank of Scotland, Santander and LloydsTSB.

TSYS (www.tsys.com) is one of the world’s largest companies for outsourced payment services, offering a broad range of issuer- and acquirer-processing technologies that support consumer-finance, credit, debit and prepaid services for financial institutions and retail companies in North America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific regions.
