A free diabetes awareness session hosted by state representative Debbie Buckner called "Living With Diabetes; Managing Your Illness" will be July 17 from 9 a.m. -2 p.m. at Fort Middle School, 2900 Woodruff Farm Road.
"If you or a loved one or a neighbor is learning to live with a diagnosis of diabetes of if you have experiences to share, this gathering is for you," Buckner said. Guest speakers include Joanne Cavis and Rhea Bentley (UGA Cooperative Extension Service), Ilona Preattle (Area Agency on Aging), Tracy Heinze (Columbus Research Foundation), Dianna Thomas (St. Francis), Jennie Deese (Care Improvement Plus) and Frances Phillips (Columbus Regional Healthcare System).
"H2U - Health Happiness, You" of Doctors Hospital will provide health information.
Refreshments will be served.
