Project Rebound holds first hip hop summit in Columbus

Project Rebound's First Hip-Hop Summit or "Da Hip-Hop Conspiracy and Reality," begins at 8:30 a.m. July 28 at the Liberty Theatre, 813 Eighth Ave.

The summit includes three panel discussions, "Dress 4 Success = Money in the Bank" at 9:30 a.m., "Has Hip-Hop Lost its Soul" at noon and "Music Business: Fact vs. Fantasy" at 2:30 p.m.

Panelists will discuss issues including violence, suggestive lyrics, education, unemployment, economic development, drugs and lack of respect for elders.

The panel discussions are free.

Besides the panels, there will be fun, food and games, a job fair and vendors.

At 5-8 p.m., there will be a block party outside the Liberty.

Then at 8 p.m., a Talent Showcase begins. This costs $10 a person.
