Singer Melba Moore schedules concert

Melba Moore, the pop and gospel singer, will be in concert at 8 p.m. Aug. 6 in the Liberty Theatre, 813 Eighth Ave.

Moore was the first African American woman to win a Tony Award for her Broadway role in "Purlie." She was last seen in Columbus during the filming of "The Fighting Temptations," which featured Cuba Gooding Jr. and Beyonce Knowles.

She's currently starring in the musical "Chicago," which is touring the country.
