Two Columbus attorneys have been named to the State Bar of Georgia's new Lawyer Advertising Task Force. Those chosen were Administrative Law Judge Tasca Badcock Hagler and William C. Rumer.
The task force was created as part of the State Bar's initiative to protect the public and justice system by enforcing disciplinary rules against lawyer advertising that is found to be false or misleading.
This effort includes establishing local committees to report faulty or misleading advertisements, appointing a staff investigator dedicated to lawyer advertising cases and a heightened awareness by the state disciplinary boards.
Hagler will serve as an at-large member of the statewide task force. Rumer will serve on the local committee for Judicial District 3.
