School board calls special meeting

The Muscogee County Board of Education has announced a called meeting immediately before its regular meeting Monday.

The called meeting, which begins at 4 p.m. in the Bradley Library conference room, "will be for the board to (a) go into executive session for a personnel issue and an acquisition of real estate issue, and (b) conduct any other necessary school business," according to a release from the school district.

The board’s regular meeting will follow at 6:30 p.m. Among the items on the board’s agenda are an extension of school Superintendent John Phillips’ contract and the memorandum of understanding with the city of Columbus regarding the library project.
