The Georgia Department of Labor’s Columbus Career Center and the University of Phoenix will co-sponsor a job fair Thursday at the university's Columbus campus, 4747 Hamilton Rd.
The fair, scheduled 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., will feature about 75 employers that will be hiring to fill current job openings and discuss possible future employment opportunities with the job seekers, the department said Friday. Some organizations will be providing educational and other resources.
Applicants should bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available job openings. Employers expected to participate in the event include: Accounting Principals, Aflac, Auburn Police Dept., Avon, Brinks Home Security, Canterbury Health Facility, Columbus Ledger-Enquirer, Columbus Police Dept., Columbus Regional Health Care, Columbus 911, Custom Stage Services, CVCC, DeKalb County Police Dept., Dept. of Juvenile Justice, Express Personnel, Flexible Personnel Services, Global Personnel Services, H&R Block, Home Interiors, LaGrange Police Dept., 5 Linx Eagle, Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office, Northrop Grumman, Omega Training Group, Phenix City Police Dept., Pre-Paid Legal, Primerica, Road America, Roosevelt Warm Springs Institute, Sonic Drive-In, Tahitian Noni, West Central Georgia Regional Hospital, the U. S. Army, the U.S. Navy, and the U.S. Border Patrol.
