AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) — An 18-year-old man wanted in a fatal nightclub shooting surrendered to police Saturday, officials said.
Darion Antonio McNair has been charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime in last week’s shooting of 18-year-old Stedmund Fryer, said Sgt. Richard Roundtree with the Richmond County Sheriff’s office.
Authorities say Fryer was shot and killed July 9 on the crowded dance floor at Club Super C’s Lounge in southwest Augusta. Several men were involved in a fight before the shooting, police said.
McNair’s friend, Jordash Tanksley, is wanted for questioning in connection with the incident, but he has not been charged with anything, police said.

McNair has been in trouble before: he was indicted in October on 19 counts — ranging from aggravated assault to possession of a firearm — for a July 2006 drive-by shooting at an Augusta apartment complex. Police have said that shooting was gang related.
Last week’s shooting does not appear to be gang related, police said.
