Shooting victim still listed in critical condition

At 10 a.m. today, Frank Moreno, who was shot nine times Sunday evening in Columbus, is still listed in critical condition.

Moreno, 22, was found slumped in the driver's seat of his Toyota Camry at 11 p.m. in the parking lot of the Corner Cupboard gas station, 3475 Victory Drive.

He had been shot in his chest, abdomen, legs and face, and was taken to the Medical Center.

Columbus police say the assault didn't happen at the gas station, but that Moreno drove himself there after the assault.

On Monday, Columbus police Lt. Mark D. Starling said, "because of his injuries, we believe it happened pretty close to the parking lot."

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the police at 706-653-3400.
