The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at West Point Project announced today that hunting permits for the 2007/2008 hunting season will be available beginning August 13.
The permits are required to hunt. The cost is $15.
There is a new hunting map with three new hunting areas added this year.
There are approximately 6,000 acres of hunting land available in Georgia and 2,000 in Alabama.

Permits may be purchased at the West Point Lake Visitors Center by calling 706-645-2937 or writing to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, West Point Project Management Office, 500 Resource Management Drive, West Point, Georgia 31833-9517.
Persons requesting a West Point Project hunting permit must provide their name, mailing address and telephone number. Don't send cash. Checks and money orders should be made to: F&A Officer, USAED Mobile.
