Columbus Tech receives grant to help students stay in school

Columbus Technical College has been awarded a $53,207 grant designed to help young people stay in school.

One of nine schools to receive the grant, this is the third year Columbus Tech has received it.

The Stay in School grant will provide career and tutorial services for students at Stewart-Quitman High School, Lumpkin; Harris County Carver Middle School, Hamilton; and Chattahoochee County Middle School, Cusseta-Chattahoochee County.

Grant money also will be used to sponsor career fairs for students in grades 8, 9 and 10 in Muscogee, Cusseta-Chattahoochee, Harris, Quitman and Stewart counties.
