The instruments that Mac McCormick made looked beautiful, but more importantly to him, they sounded beautiful.
For most of his 72 years, he crafted fine guitars, banjos, mandolins and other stringed instruments — and repaired instruments for some of the biggest guitar manufacturers in the world.
Now, a month after his death, local musicians are coming together to perform songs and tell stories in his honor, as a fund-raiser for his surviving family. The event is set for 8 p.m. Saturday at The Loft, 1032 Broadway. Admission is $5.
