More than 230 new teachers will be welcomed to the Muscogee County School District during a three-day orientation Wednesday-Friday at Midland Middle School, 6900 Warm Springs Road.
They include 89 high school, 61 middle school and 84 elementary teachers. Fewer than 20 positions remain to be filled by the first day of classes Aug. 13.
Superintendent John A. Phillips Jr. will bring greetings from the district.
The teachers will take part in required core sessions that will cover code of ethics, teacher evaluation, human resource information, induction program, Georgia Performance Standards and district technology. A variety of choice sessions also will be offered. The new teachers will work with mentors and leadership teams.
