Agents of the Chambers County Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force located and seized approximately two ounces of crack cocaine with a street value of $2,000 on Wednesday.
This resulted in the arrest of Derrick O'Neal Burton, 21, of LaFayette, Ala. He was charged with trafficking cocaine and is being held at the Chambers County Detention Facility with no bond. Federal charges are also pending.
Members of the task force have made other arrests recently. Those include Keegan Jamar Newton of Valley, Ala., for possession of crack cocaine and marijuana, Bobby Lee Kelley Jr., 40, of Roanoke, Ala., for possession of crack cocaine, and Jacob Theodore Belcher, 21, of Lanett, Ala., for possession of marijuana.
The task force is a partnership of the Valley Police Department, Lanett Police Department, LaFayette, Police Department and Chambers County Sheriff's office.
