FBI agents conducted a raid on a South Columbus nightclub Friday morning.
At least five agents were inside Ritmo Latino on North Lumpkin Road. The raid started at 7:30 a.m. and appeared to be concluding about 11:30 a.m.
The agents, with shirts that said “Evidence Response Team,” took out brown bags containing piles of papers as well as boxes before locking up the club and snapping a picture of the front entrance.
There is no immediate word on why the business was raided or what the agents were looking for. Authorities say three individuals were rounded up from around Columbus and Phenix City and arrested in connection with this investigation.
FBI Special Agent in Charge Donnie Green of the bureau's Columbus field office said this afternoon that federal authorities could not comment on the investigation.
