Youth points pellet gun at two students on Columbus school playground, arrested

Columbus police arrested a youth Friday for pointing a pellet gun at two Fox Elementary School students Wednesday.

Around 8:30 a.m. Friday, Fox Principal Penny Thorton told a Columbus school police officer two students, ages 8 and 9, were upset over an incident that happened at the school Wednesday.

The two boys told their mothers that another boy had pointed a gun at them while on the school’s playground and said, “This is my territory.” The boy then told them he would shoot both of them if they told anyone about the gun.

The officer was able to find and arrest the juvenile. The pellet gun was turned in as evidence.

Police noted the Wednesday incident could be gang-related.
