Radio-controlled model boats and seaplanes take over Callaway Gardens' Robin Lake during the annual Sky High Hot Air Balloon Festival
The Second annual Radio-Controlled Model Boat and Seaplane Regatta will be part of Callaway Gardens' Sky High Hot Air Balloon Festival.
The boat parade of these models will be Sept. 4, just before the traditional Balloon Glow at dusk.
The regatta races are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sept. 5.
The races include sailboat, utility, barges and tug boats in pre-determined courses on Robin Lake. Electric and gas-powered boats will be racing on nearby Martin Lake.
Besides those racing, a display of the model boats will be set up along with a pool for small model boat activities.
Children will be able to build, decorate and race boats in the pool.
After the regatta, the Best in Show prize will be given. Other prizes include first, second and third in class, type and event as well as a trophy for the children's sailboat winner.
