Dancing with the Stars results: Tom Delay, Debi Mazar leave show

Despite having a score high enough to continue on "Dancing with the Stars," conservative politician Tom Delay announced that stress fractures in both feet were causing him to leave the competition. Unfortunately for actress Debi Mazar the show's producers decided to go forward with their plan to eliminate the lowest scoring celebrity. Scores from last night's show were added to viewers' votes and Debi and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy were eliminated.

What will Debi take away from the experience? "I definitely know a few more steps, and I've had a great time." she said.

Why did Tom Delay decide he had to leave? "You can't practice. And if you can't practice, you make a fool of yourself out here, and I don't want to do that to Cheryl," he said about his partner Cheryl Burke. The audience groaned their disappointment as he made the announcement. He thanked the viewers for voting for him and said he was sad to leave the week before he would have been dancing the Texas two-step. The show extended an offer for him to return to dance in the final show if his injuries healed.

Those who will continue to dance another show are ultimate fighter Chuck Liddel, swimmer Natalie Coughlin, singer Mya, singer Donny Osmond, snowboarder Louie Vito, "Iron Chef America" chairman Mark Decascos, actress Melissa Joan Hart, model Joanna Krupa, singer Aaron Carter, NFL star Michael Irvin and singer Kelly Osbourne.

Tuesday's third-week results show started with a surprise. Lead judge Len Goodman announced that the repeat dance of the night would be Chuck Liddell and Anna Trebunskaya's samba. It only scored 17 points on Monday's show but was described as being "fun and unique."

At the beginning of Tuesday's show, Queen Latifa performed "Fast Car" from her new album while Cheryl Burke and Maksim Chmerkovskiy danced.

Here are Monday night's scores:

NFL star Michael Irvin and partner Anna Demidova scored a low 14 out of 30 points for their samba.

Tom Delay his partner Cheryl Burke earned a 15 for their samba.

Ultimate fighter Chuck Liddell and partner Anna Trebunskaya earned a 17 for their fun but bad samba.

Actress Debi Mazar and her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy scored 17 points for their samba. The judges were disappointed that Debi's fiery personality didn't come through in the dance.

"Iron Chef America" chairman Mark Decascos and partner Lacey Schwimmer earned an 18 for their rumba.

Actress Melissa Joan Hart and partner Mark Ballas received a 19 for the samba. Though the judges agreed that Melissa improved each week, they weren't sold on her samba.

Singer Kelly Osbourne and Louis Van Amstel earned a 20 for their samba. Kelly admitted that she's struggling with nerves, but she's getting better.

Snowboarder Louie Vito and partner Chelsie Hightower's rumba. The couple earned 20 points for their dance.

Singer Donny Osmond and partner Kym Johnson earned a 21 for their rumba, but the highlight was the "chemistry" between Donny and Bruno.

Singer Aaron Carter and partner Karina Smirnoff earned a 21 for their rumba.

The judges told model Joanna Krupa and partner Derek Hough that their samba got the party started. The pair earned 23 points for their sexy dance.

Swimmer Natalie Coughlin and partner Alec Mazo received 26 points for their rumba.

The first tens of the season went to singer Mya and partner Dmitry Chaplin for their romantic rumba. Their score was 27.

Last week model Kathy Ireland and her partner Tony Dovolani were eliminated. Guest judge Baz Luhrmann was on the panel in place of Len Goodman.

In week one, actor Ashley Hamilton with partner Edyta Sliwinska and singer Macy Gray with partner Jonathan Roberts were eliminated.
