Human rights activist Ishmael Beah, author of "A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier," will give a talk Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. in the University Hall Auditorium at Columbus State University.
The lecture is free to the public.
In the book, the 26-year-old Beah describes how as a 12-year-old in Sierra Leone, he fled attacking rebels and wandered into a land wrecked by violence. By age 13, he'd been forced to serve in the government army.
