Free of jazz concert Sunday on Fort Benning

In the mood for some jazz?

Well, the Maneuver Center of Excellence Jazz Band and the Columbus State University Jazz Ensemble will conduct a free concert at 4 p.m. Sunday on the lawn of Riverside, the commanding general’s quarters.

The MCOE Jazz Band will be led by Staff Sgt. Darryl Washington while the CSU Jazz Ensemble will play under the direction of Dr. Alexander Pershounin, director of jazz studies and professor of bass, Schwob School of Music.

The hour-long concert is free and open to the public. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring picnic baskets, blankets and lawn chairs, however, pets are prohibited.

The concert will be canceled in the event of inclement weather.
