The Columbus softball team defeated Northside 2-0 to stay unbeaten at the GHSA state finals on Thursday at South Commons.
Columbus defeated Creekview 1-0 earlier Thursday and secured a spot as one of the final three Class AAA teams with the win over Northside. The Blue Devils play Heritage-Catoosa at 5 p.m. Friday.
Northside, which defeated top-ranked Eastside 3-2 in eight innings earlier Thursday, will play again Friday at 1 p.m. against the winner of a West Laurens-Thomson game scheduled for 9 a.m.
The Blue Devils scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth following two Northside errors. Chandler Padgett, who pitched both wins for Columbus on Thursday, batted in the first with a fielder's choice to first and Daniella Glover carried in a run with a shot to left field on the next at-bat.

Padgett struck out nine and finished with 20 strikeouts for the day.
Haley Love struck out three and allowed four hits against Columbus to take the loss.
