Benning to host Armed Forces Rugby Championship in November

This year's Armed Forces Rugby Championship will take place on Fort Benning beginning Nov. 8.

Teams competing in this event will represent some of the best athletes from all five branches of the armed forces and will be assembling from around the world.

The public is invited to attend any of the championship games, which will be played at Stewart-Watson Field. There is no admission and parking is free. The competition runs through Nov. 14.

Drivers of vehicles without military stickers will need to stop at the visitor’s center on I-185 or Benning Blvd. to get a temporary access pass. To obtain a pass, drivers should be prepared to show their driver’s license, vehicle registration or rental car contract and proof of insurance.

Adult passengers in the vehicle may also be asked to present identification.
