Columbus Metro Airport has history in the air

Three World War II-era aircraft — B-17 and B-24 bombers and a P-51 Mustang — landed at the Columbus Metropolitan Airport on Monday as part of the Collings Foundation’s Wings of Freedom Tour. They will be on display through Thursday. Tours are available for a suggested donation of $12 for adults or $6 for 12-and-under. Flight experiences are available for $425 for 30 minutes in the bombers or $2,200 for 30 minutes or $3,200 for a full hour in the Mustang. Call 800-568-8924 for more information on the tax-deductible flights.
