Two Columbus employers have made Georgia Trend magazine's list of Best Places to Work in Georgia for 2009.
St. Francis Hospital and Southeast Regional Research Group are two of the 10 Georgia employers that appear on the publication's fourth annual list.
St. Francis was recognized for its CHEERS program, in which employees donate money for patients who can't afford health care or fellow employees in a crisis. The magazine also mentioned St. Francis' employee recognition awards for nursing caregivers and "unsung heroes."
SERGG, a 17-employee Columbus company that manages clinical research studies, was recognized for several of its workplace practices. Employees enjoy a paid day off for "SERGG Day," an annual Halloween party and a formal awards dinner in a different city every year. SERGG also covers 80 percent of the staff's health insurance premiums.
